scavenger project

Tuesday, 31 March 2009

A while ago I submitted some work to be featured in a project called that scavenger project by the Art House Co-Op.  Each artist was sent a list of items and they had to interperate the list in their own way and art House would then make a book of their favourites.  They chose my 'grandpas chair' image (top right) for the childhood memories category and this is how it looks in the book, i'm so pleased!

I love the dirty knees photo (left), this is by Kathryn Rodrigues.  It is so perfect for this category, love it!

Tignes

Wednesday, 25 March 2009

My holiday seems an awful long time ago now but I have just finished scanning all the polaroids and 120mm films that I took (there were a lot!)  Here is a little taster of some of the ones I took.  I won't bore you with all of my photos, just my favourite ones!

The best thing to take photos of was the skiiers and snowboarders whizzing past underneath the chairlifts with a polaroid camera in flat light.  They  look like little coloured painted people, I love it!

I also really like the trees:

In other news, I sold another photo at the exhibition at Curwens gallery, so excited!   Thankyou very much to Vicky x

Preview

I have to firstly appoligize for not posting for a while, there are 2 reasons:  one is that I was on holiday which was just wonderful, snowboarding in Tignes!  and the other is that I have been spending every spare minute doing my final showcase project for college, which is coming along nicely, I will post some of the photos from that on here soon.

In other news I had the preview of my exhibition last night and I sold 2 photos!! I am so so so pleased so thank you very much to Kevin and Becky, my new favorite 2 people in the world!  I also want to say thanks to all my lovely friends and family for coming along and supporting me and saying lots of nice things!

This is one of the photos that sold:

The exhibition will be up for another 2 months so if you happen to be in Royston please pop in for a look (direcions are in the blog post below).
