Happy Christmas

Thursday, 24 December 2009

Its my last morning at work so in about 3 hours Christmas will officially start for me. Happy Christmas everyone and I wanted to share some of my favourite photos I have taken this year. The top one is particularly special but I can't say why just yet, just keep your fingers crossed for it!

this was when John took me to Norfolk for my birthday, we camped in October! Our tent was stuffed so full of duvets and blankets that it wasn't cold though.

my mum in her garden, I had been taking her portrait in the morning (she was a very good model!) and was just having a cup of tea when I snapped this one. It was one of my favourites from the day.

114 Miles Week 17

Wednesday, 9 December 2009

A collaboration with Ian Land. We email one photo a week to each other, pair them up as a diptych, and display them on this blog:

Some work better than others. This one, I think, is particularly good. My photo is on the left and it is of John's Dad. Ian's is on the right and I would guess that it is his shadow but you would have to ask him about that!

National Portrait Gallery Wonderness

Tuesday, 8 December 2009

I went to the National Portrait Gallery mainly to see the Photographic Portrait Prize 09 and was really blown away by the amount of amazing photos that were included in the competition. I have been for the last couple of years and there are always always great photos but there are usually a lot that I just don't get why they were picked. This year, I loved pretty much every one. My favourite one was called William by Kelvin Murray. I will definately enter next year and I don't know why I didn't this year! I probably would of entered this:

or this:
next year I will enter!

Weekend breakfasts

Tuesday, 1 December 2009

I know it is Tuesday but I had some delicious breakfasts at the weekend which helped me to practice my food photography.

It was so tasty even the washing up looked good! Unfortunately I also attempted to make a lemon drizzle cake for my parents, which failed completely and did not taste good, at least the messy remains looked good though!

ps. that magazine in the corner of the top photo is the best photography magazine ever ever printed, it is called GUP and you should read it.

not 114 miles....

......but still a diptych!

and also a portrait of my lovely Dad
