114 miles week 24

Thursday, 28 January 2010

The latest from 114miles. Ian is on the left and on the right is me.

My photo was taken on New Years morning, I had forgotten about ths film and only got it developed the other day. I was asleep on the sofa after a party and woke up to see this little hand (my boyfriends) reaching for the water from a squished up position on the floor between the sofa and the coffee table! It makes me smile, I hope you like it.

In other news am going to the awards evening and private view of the Professional Photographer of the year competition that I was shortlisted for tonight!

Do you apres ski?

Wednesday, 27 January 2010

So it seems that my French Skiing photos are becoming quite popular. I have just discovered that they have been featured on this blog:

and this one (amongst others):

http://wherethesidewalkbegins.blogspot.com/

So thank you ladies for promoting my work. I find promotion and marketing very difficult so it is good that my work is out there for all to see and being featured on different blogs/websites/magazines is a really good way to help. It is always a nice feeling when someone thinks your work is worthy of being featured. That said it is a bit of a strange feeling too, to find out that people have been looking at your photos on other blogs without knowing about it, its kind of exciting/strange!

To see the full collection of these French Skiing photos they are on my new website (!!) which I am working on refining at the mo here is the link:

(click on the project called Snow) while you are there, let me know what you think of it. Too many photos, not enough, have i missed anything off?

Published in Ninja Magazine no 16

Monday, 18 January 2010

I have been published in Ninja magazine again! very very pleased. It is another excellent issue with loads of great photos. The image on the front (by Julie Chovin) reminds me of when I had to wear a brace when I was little, it looked a bit like this!

You can download the issue here:

Weddersleben

I was in Germany this week taking photos for Injection Alloys, it was so so snowy, I snapped these photos out of the window of the factory and in the undercover store! There was so much snow that it had been drifting under the shelter, it was so pretty.

All of the snow has gone now and we are back to grey and drizzle, wish it was still like this.

I found one of my photos in amongst this gorgeous set of flickr favourites on the lovely blog Nestled In. I love every single photo from this set they really compliment each other and make me want to go home and never leave (in a good way!)

Romka Magazine

Monday, 4 January 2010

I was lucky enough to be featured in the latest very very very good Romka Magazine. If you have never heard of this before then go and have a look, you can download it for free here:

The magazine is full of favourite photos from loads of different photographers. These photos are not necessarily their best or most popular photos but they are the personal favourites that means the most to the photographer. This was my photo:

It is Johny asleep. I love it because even though you can't see his face and it is a bit blurred, it is exactly what I see when I wake up in the mornings.
