Christmas Cake

Tuesday, 30 November 2010

I took this photo last year while I was making Christmas cakes, they turned out so good, I am going to attempt a small batch again this year, keep your fingers crossed they turn out as good. I have the dried fruit soaking in a tonne of Brandy at home waiting to be stirred into the cakey goodness.

Take note

Wednesday, 24 November 2010

I was reading a fashion and style blog by a girl* who is doing a really interesting project. She has taken 30 items of clothes from her wardrobe and is just wearing that lot for 30 days. Genius idea as it forces you to 'remix' your clothes! Anyway, while I was reading her blog I came across this little quote (which is what I really wanted to say today, long winded way around, I know!):

Calm down and just be. Be who you are. You are the only one who can be that good at being you.

It is so true and needs to be taken notice of, I am continually comparing myself to others - there work, how skinny they are, why don't i live in France blah blah blah blah blah and I always come off worse, its just not worth it people! So stop it now.

*Kendi Lea - great name by the way

Child and Child

Tuesday, 23 November 2010

A little while ago I shot some corporate portraits for the lovely people at Child and Child Solicitors in London. They were a great bunch to work with, this is just a taster of the shoot.

In other news, check out this lovely new item that is sitting in my wardrobe waiting for the perfect moment to debut her, isn't she lovely?!

Edinburgh Treasures

Tuesday, 9 November 2010

Look at all the goodness I brought back from Edinburgh! That little fish is a real fossil, John completely spontaneously bourght it from a fossil shop (love them!) it is so beautiful close up, you can see all the little pin bones. The four leaf clover I found whilst walking around and the book standing up is a beautiful book full of polaroids by Stuart Woodman. He took a polaroid a day for the whole year he was 30, it is stunning and such a good idea, I am definitely going to do the same when I am 30 (a few years yet) but maybe not with polaroids, unless I win the lottery or something! Other treasures include some cute notebooks and postcards from a gallery visit.

'Roid Week

Monday, 8 November 2010

I thought it would be fun to participate in 'roid week last week (polaroid week). These are my submissions, they are a bit of a mixed bag some of them I shot especially and some are old ones that I dug out. It was really good to see all the excellent photos that came pouring into the flickr pool. Have a look here for some of my favourites.

It was John's sisters wedding at the weekend which I photographed for them, I am just looking through some of the photos now and there are some lovely ones, they are such a cute couple!

Your Space Party

Tuesday, 2 November 2010

A couple of weeks ago I had a great time on a job taking photos at the Your Space Apartments party. The party was held in one of their beautiful apartments, the food was provided by Origin8 and the wine by Cambridge Wine Merchants (both were extremely lovely!). It was a really good evening. These photos were taken with my new lens - just look at the gorgeousness that is the bokeh - so so good, it was definitely worth investing in even if it did hurt my purse!
