Preview Night

Thankyou to everyone who came to the preview of Exposure37 last night. The evening went really really well. Everyones work looked amazing. Thanks to all my friends and family who came and said lovely things about me and thanks to my new friends Amy and Dominic for making my night by just being super! My Mum was in char

ge of taking photos of the evening for me, she did an excellent job and when I get the pics, I'll post them up here.

It is a huge relief to have finished everything, I am thrilled by how last night went, I even managed to sell a few books and am still buzzing today. The big

question now is:

What Next?!

Hopefully more clients and more freelance work, if anybody needs a photographer then please let me know.

ps. The exhibition is on for another week so if you are in Cambridge, please come along. I will be there on Saturday afternoon and Tuesday evening for my shift to look after everything.

Preview Tonight

It is the preview of my degree show tonight, I put everything up yesterday, just got a few minor last minute touches to add later. It is looking pretty good, I am pleased with it. It is not how I imagined it, the curators had other ideas on arrangement of my images than I did and they won! But it looks good nonetheless. I am very excited, just need to finish work, get changed into my 'preview outfit(!)' and go. See you there.

Finished

I had my very last official day at college this week, its a little sad but very exciting too.  Project hand in day was a total nightmare and almost had a nervous breakdown though, my hard drive broke and had to go to the menders!  I thought I had lost all my data (which of course I hadn't backed up! - back up people very very very important, I will be doing it from now on!)  luckily I got all my work back but I had to re-write and essay in super quick time, but its all over now!  All I have to do now is work on promoting my degree show.

It starts on the 19th of June at The Ruskin Gallery, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge.

Ninja Magazine

Very excitingly, some of my images from my showcase project (still here) are to be published in the next issue of Ninja magazine:

Ninja is an excellent on-line publication which specialises in new talent and only publishes work that has never been published before.  This is such an excellent idea for artists trying to break through and get there work seen, because this is the hardest thing in the world to do!  I am so happy to be a part of this magazine.  It is issue 12 and should be out on the 4th of May.  You can download it here when it comes out.  Yay!!

more from my project

Its getting a bit close now to finishing my degree, only 2 weeks to finish my showcase project and write 3 essays (which I have been putting off for about a year!) I've just been choosing which images from the book should go on the walls for the exhibition.  Here is one that didn't make it onto the wall:

Interestingly I decided not to put 2 of my favourites into the exhibition because they didn't really work with the rest of the work as a whole.  In the end it was more of a case of getting the balance right and thinking about the exhibition as a whole which swung the decision rather than individual images.  So I had to let 2 of my favouites slip through!  They are in the book though, so that is OK and also the book is the most important thing.  Tomorrow, I take the chosen 14 images to the printers, so I now have a whole evening of changing my mind ahead of me!
